Research into short films
What is a short film?
The National Television and Film School (NTFS) defines a short film is "any film not long enough to be considered a feature".
The BAFTA website has a series of strict rules and regulations for short Film entries including, 'The maximum running time, including end credits, is 40 minutes.'. For a short to work it must include a plot, action, locations and dialogue in order to create an effect.
I started my reasearch into short films by watching a series of shorts for example, the short film 'High Maintenance' by Philip Van. This proved to me how a powerful image could be created in such a short period of time.
